The Effort of Our Lives

“Being worthy is up to the beholder, becoming worthy is up to us.”

                                                                                      -Me?

effort.jpg

Wow! It has been a long 2 weeks, but lo and behold, I have returned!

In this post, I would like to talk about a recurring theme in all of our lives, and something which we would love nothing more than to master. We will discuss the reasoning for it, the varying effects, and then how we can use this wonderful concept to improve our lives in a truly beautiful way.

Drum Roll Please…. dum dum dum dum!

The winner is Effort 🙂

Success-always-demands-a-greater-effort.-Winston-S.-Churchill

Why do we need effort?

Everybody has their own answers for this simple yet important question.

In this society we think in terms of value and subjective thought processes, to truly become consistent we must become objective within our lives and focus on what truly matters. If what you believe in, is your work, then you will apply these skills there, if it is family, then you will think this pertains to them, and if it is friends, you will take this socially. We need effort for one reason, and that is the concept of worthy accomplishment.

When we work hard for something, there is a sense of completion which we rarely achieve in our lifetimes. We see this in many cases such as research papers and high-intensity housework. 🙂 Think of the times we are given the keys, do we feel good about having it, or are we proud of ourselves for reaching the point where we could put the pedal to the metal?

Real Happiness

We can buy happiness, but as we know, that doesn’t last too long, and if it does we have given up on true accomplishment. Waking up at the crack of dawn every day may be hard, but there is that feeling of happiness we get by the time we are awake. That feeling is worth all the hardships in the world because we know it is real…

Praise yourself for your hard work, and your achievements will come naturally.

Become Your Teacher

“Appreciate the big things, but remember what they are made out of…”

                                                                                                     -Me?

flower-2447167_960_720

Sometimes we forgot the fragility of this world and the concepts which hold it together in our eyes. With one flick of a hand or the simple truth told, the world as we know it would collapse. Something which we rely on to keep our schedules intact can break apart with such simple means, how do we keep on loving the world around us, instead of worrying about the possible outcomes?

For us to discover the answer, we must understand one simple word – Appreciation

I have written about this in the past, but I have a slightly different explanation I would like to divulge to you, my treasured readers. We have all been on the receiving end of more than a few anxiety fueled thoughts. Then, one of two outcomes will occur, we push past our thoughts that hold us back from greatness, or the what if’s become our reality to the point of failure. pushing ourselves is imperative to success and only with constant effort to grow can we become our true selves.

glasses-272399_960_720

When we think of the outcomes of a situation, there are many ways we can veer off into the darkened pool of our mind. The best way to make sure we do not stary off the path of achievement is to teach ourselves to react positively to challenges. Worry is an integral part of keeping us safe, but at some point, we must take our worry and throw it in the backseat while we let our willpower and need for success take the wheel.

The possibilities are endless, make sure you do not forget that there are many ways not just to fail, but to succeed as well.

Discovery Nurtures Growth

Sunday post for Friday…

Ah, this Friday was a holiday here in Israel so, alas I could not post, but here I am today on this beautiful Sunday ready to inspire.

“Nothing in this world is meaningless… unless we make it so.” -Me?

I would like to unravel the mystery of maturity and discover what causes us to turn into the responsible adults we think we are.

Today I was trying to convince my friend to stay in the post high-school program that he is enrolled in, and not to drop out and go back home. Now there are a lot of factors involved in this discussion, but the overall factor was his wanting to be in a place he felt safe in. Me and him were going back and forth about the concept of being your own person, and making your own safe places by adapting to the outside world. Unfortunately I didn’t make any headway and although he might go home I really hope he can change his mindset enough to realize the importance of adulthood.

What kind of power can cause a person to leave the place of his upbringing and start a life outside of his previous parameters?

There are a good amount of reasons for one to leave his home in search of more, but I would like to talk about the concept of discovery in this post.

The world is a big place and we haven’t even scratched the surface when in comes to 100% discovery. I personally love how much mystery there is in the real world, and that movies and tv shows don’t compare to what we can see without there help of CGI. Just this fact alone has people searching in the deepest caves, tallest mountains, and the most remote of islands. There is no reason to do these things but the hope of discovery and the drive for new experiences.

Everyone has this inside of them, and we can use it to our advantage. When there is something for us to do in our daily lives, all we see is a grey wall of nothingness which ends up being routine, but imagine if we can discover something new just by making dinner, or washing the car?

We can learn so much form the simplest of experiences, and what we learn will help us make the world, a safer place.

Nature of Change

Friday First

“Beginnings begin with a thought and continue with action.”

         -Me?

Finally! I have found the time to write on this blog that I love so much for the people that have given me the energy and inspiration to keep writing in the first place.

environment-2443922_960_720

I have been studying in Israel for the last few weeks, and it has been an experience unlike any other. My day consists of classes and meals, maybe an hour of free time, and a hike from time to time just to get the blood pumping. Beauty is the embodiment of where I live, with mountains in the distance, palm trees, and the views I have on a daily basis really help my creative writing in a big way. The impact my surroundings have had on me is something which I would like to expand on today.

Situational Circumstances

Many factors can lead to change in our lives, and these varying changes will hopefully have a positive affect on our lives. Change does not have to mean a total opposite, or different factor then a more familiar one. There can be improvement that we see as change, just as a person can still eat ice cream, but only at the right occasions, and will feel better about his control over his desires.

Many of us feel a missing link within our lives and believe we can fill it with more of the same, as long as we keep upping the ante. This is obviously not true, since we know that the definition of insanity is to keep repeating the same actions and expecting different results.

Proof From The Past

Last year I also studied in Israel and if you have read previous posts, you know I loved it. Although, I knew that I did not live up to my full potential, or accomplish all that I wanted to in the place I was last year, mentally and physically. Guess what? I changed my surroundings by applying to a different program and getting new visa paperwork, and all the other processes which I went through to make this switch occur. Of course I had help from my family to make this happen, and that really gave me the power to overcome my weaknesses and push myself to accomplish what I needed to achieve.

The change I am seeing on a daily basis is astounding, and I can thank my willpower, along with the proper environment which I put myself in.

I really missed writing to ya’ll, and reading your incredible thoughts. Peace until next week 🙂

What Challenges Give Us

Thursday Thwack

“Looking for a way out, is the best way to find one.”

                                                             -Me?

We push ourselves everyday to see the results we work so hard for. Day in and day out we work and accomplish an incredible amount. We all have different processes which get us to that point of empowerment, but once we do, it doesn’t matter how, only that it is. The only thing that we are thinking about once we decide to start working on something is the product, and the final stages of perfection.

sports-2282916_960_720

This stage is obviously our end goal, but have we ever started working, and then slowly lost interest? Slowly slowly that feeling of, I would rather not be doing this starts to creep in. At that point is where our goal of a finished product become blurred and unceremonious. Although, this point in time gives us a chance to strengthen our resolve, and not only create something incredible; but also to never give into our more petty desires again.

Every challenge is a chance to become even better then we once were!

Believe in this concept, and all of our dreams will come true!

How to Say Thank You

Tuesday Turn-over

“New beginnings, or repeating success?”

                                                -Me?

Hello to all of you who are seeking the Way of the Wise; these last few days my posting habits have been a little erratic. This is because I am getting ready to start school again in Israel. I am basically moving to a different country again, so I have a lot to prepare. When I start school again; in about a week, hopefully my writing will get much more scheduled.

Side note – If you ever have an argument or comment on what I am writing about, please comment below 😉 Love to hear your thoughts.

Before I write the Way of the Wise today 🙂 let me just thank all the people out there who have been reading and applying positivity to your lives. it is inspiring to know you people are out there!

thank-you-2490552_960_720

I would like to write about appreciation today and the way we ooze passion about the subject.

A dear friend does something incredible for you, for the sole purpose of helping you in a time of need. There are usually two different types of responses to this sort of action.

  • Debt
  • Gratitude

The facts are that depending on your mental state we will feel varying emotions. There are different factors which can influence these reactions, although we are talking about an average, generalized situation, hopefully most of us can relate to.

keyboard-621830_960_720

Debt

Can we absolutely say that a thank you is enough?

I didn’t think so, more often than not, we feel an unmistakable pull towards giving back to the person which did good for us. Don’t get me wrong, this is a great thought which drives our society in the right direction, most of the time. When we as respectable human beings, cannot take something without fulfilling this need to give back, sometimes it is caused by our acceptance that we aren’t good enough to receive and that someone wouldn’t give us without assuming we would give back to them.

We usually only see this in people with self-confidence issues, but it can manifest in the form of fear, where the person believes he must give back to keep up a personal image; or through victim-hood, where the person creates a false reality where the person is only giving because they feel pity for one’s self.

We are awesome and accepting gifts/favors is just as important as giving them.

Gratitude

This is the most common of all the reactions to kindness, and the most healthy. Just a simple thank you, or I really appreciate it, can go farther then any favor. The kindest emotion we can show is appreciation, just to show our appreciation to other people can do incredible things!

sign-1715890_960_720 (1)

Bottom Line!

We love receiving good intentions, and people love giving their kindness; just make it simple and accept it, it makes everyone feel good, and showing our appreciation for someone else’s actions, will inevitably make you seem like more of an angel in their eyes.

Thank you for reading!

Emotion Steps Forward

Monday Munch

“Prepare for the worst, expect the best, know the reality.”

                                                                             -Me?

We always want the best possible outcome, it is just natural. For most of us though, what plagues our minds are the less then positive endings which we think are more likely to happen. The fear of being let down is so great, that we actually believe that the world has a negative outcome waiting for us to walk into.

maybe-2084778_960_720

The reasoning? Fear of lurching towards our goal.

More times then not, patience and logic bring out the best outcome, but there are instances where we must simply lurch toward the goal we have set for ourselves. An un-explainable action caused by a moment of inspiration is all we need to push ourselves into the next step of our adventure.

We can use our emotions to achieve what we need to accomplish, they can go awry, but hopefully we can set ourselves on such a strong path, that nothing will be able to divert our focus…

The Mission

Thursday Third

face-1468274_960_720

“Committing one’s whole life to the service of their dreams will result in their dreams becoming reality.”

                                                                                                             -Me?

The way we go about our everyday lives, seems to tell us more about ourselves then any of the extraordinary instances that occur within it. It is very interesting how we let these small actions pass us by without a thought, when all we need is one thought to learn something incredible!

teaching-311356_960_720

The Lesson

The single most important thing we can learn from this world, is that our purpose is what we make it, and if we have a goal, then reaching it requires all of your willpower and motivation to accomplish. There is nothing that can stand in your way, and nothing that has the ability to halt your dreams.

As our lives unfurl, there many ways we can let it go, but only one way we can shape it towards. When we dream, we must sleep, as to not hit the world too hard with an unexplained greatness. By dreaming while we walk, while we eat, and while we relax, we are building a world to shape into the path that we plan on heading.

When your life is your dream, then what does a measly challenge mean to you?

How can a hiccup in life be more important than what you will accomplish on this earth?

There are no wrongs to right, or mistakes to pave over, there is only what you will accomplish and how you will accomplish it.

target-1747234_960_720

The Mission

Being able to focus on the future is the second step of becoming your goal, right after accepting the fact that you have a mission. A soldier is able to push past normal human boundaries, and will constantly do the impossible. They are able to do this because of the singular fact, that it must be done, there is no cost. Nothing is important, but the mission; and once this is accepted we can accomplish something bigger then ourselves.

That my friends, is the key; we can live our life for ourselves, but than we would never be able to accomplish more then ourselves. By living according to what we need, we limit ourselves to the point of only seeing what must be done, and not what can be.

Caring is good, being selfish is good, although, do we always care for the right things, and are we selfish for the right reasons?

Looking Through an Old Album

Wednesday Wobble

insecurity-1767736_960_720

“What we see through our eyes is only a grainy version of the reality which stands before us.”

                                                                                              -Me?

We all know that we only step in our own shoes, and to even think for a second that someone else’s would be a better fit, then we know that we are missing something huge. Once we know that our challenges in life are tailor made for us, then we can accept the responsibility to push through them.

We do not judge, because we can see.

Although

We judge in reaction to the things we see.

sunglasses-2523803_960_720

When we see the old man talking to himself, we do not judge, for his age has caught up to him. At the same time, life seems to be showing us that every kindness has an evil, and visa versa; by having our eyesight be the givers of information, which we use as the substance to make a judgment on someone we can only begin to understand. (wow, run on sentence much?) As a nation and as a people, we need to realize the truth behind our shortcomings, and accept the fact that not being able to understand everything about a person on the spot, actually helps us with dealing with our problems.

Independence

Using our limited understanding to analyze and act upon a situation is the literal definition of a healthy understanding. Wanting more helps us by giving us drive to learn more, although keeping a distance from others who do not need our fractured picture of their lives taken into account.

All we do is reply to life, why not comment as well.

Reminder of Our Purpose

Monday Mince

flower-2373000_960_720

“Just one thorn can cut, imagine what a plant working with itself can accomplish.”

                                                                                        -Me?

Anybody who has ever felt like they were fighting an unbeatable battle, where the enemy knew more about you then you did, where at every turn you were out-smarted and ruined, then you might be at war with yourself. Each and every living thing has different parts that work in unison, but can just as easily destroy each other. If our brain does not give our body the reports of what it is thinking and feeling then our internal organs will cease to be of use. In turn, what if our body decided that it has had enough of following orders? Then our brain will loose all purpose. It is a simple equation of either loving oneself enough to help ourselves, or to be so consumed by hatred that we will ignore the fact that we are the ones tearing down our own future.

flowers-181223_960_720

Purpose

When we search for meaning, we only want what we think we already know. Acceptance is the step to everything, and accepting the fact that we all need purpose, whether it is self given or not, is extremely important. For us to look at life, at every living thing, and find its purpose, then the power of sadness can never touch our soul ever again. Depression is the epitome of the lack of purpose, if we have purpose we have happiness.

Usefulness

There are points in our lives that we can help, and even do a great deal in the service of someone else’s lives, in a positive way. This may not be our purpose, but just as the body is one of the most essential parts of the body, it is still useful to the brain, it can have the ability to give purpose and still forfeit its own importance for a bit at a time.

A point in our lives might give us a prickle here or there, but in the end the point is what we were seeking the whole time.
